Paramount Park in Murcia finds serious problems to progress
The Superior Court of Justice of Murcia has ruled this week a preventive stop over the works of the Paramount Park project. The reason is that part of the area where the Park is being constructed is located in a natural park.
The platform Ecologistas en Acción presented an appeal as they considered that the agreement between the developers of Paramount Park project and the Alhama de Murcia Council was not legal, as part of the land of the future leisure complex is inside of the natural park called El Valle y Carrascoy (around 25% of the total area).
This is a precautionary measure by the Superior Court of Justice, intended to avoid any irreparable damage in absence of a final judgement, which can be reached within several months. But in any case, it represents one more problem in the development of the project.
Paramount Park is a very ambitious development with a huge impact in regional economy and, of course, in the regional real estate sector. However, Justice should establish if the economic interests are balanced with the respect of one of the most beautiful natural environments of the Murcia region.
