New concept of modular home: the incremental house by Module
Module is a young company of architectural projects based in Pittsburgh (USA), and recently they have presented a new concept of modular home: properties that grow according to the needs of its inhabitants. In this way, the owners can get a bigger house, adding new rooms if they need it. The firm summarises the idea under the slogan “urban home that grows with you”.
A new concept of modular home: properties that grow according to the needs of its inhabitants
This interesting kind of modular homes represents a great way to provide to families and companies a flexible way to build a property, and will change the current concept of static construction. So, it will let the buyer to adapt the building to future needs without implementing a large construction work or directly changing of property, which is a very attractive feature specially for young families or couples.
Maybe Module decides to expand the concept to European markets. In the case of Spain, the application of the concept would be probably very useful as many foreign owners could change the size of their home according with the moment of the year and the number of the family members or friends that are living in each moment in the property in Spain.
Of course, also this kind of modular home will be very interesting for those who want to rent their property in Spain, as the number of rooms could be increased, maximising the benefits of the owner (specially in summer if the home is in a Spanish coastal area).
